Bringing people together for the love of wild and working lands

As a nonprofit, we put the wellbeing of people and our collective home first. We know that beautiful, healthy buildings, good food and creativity can strengthen our bonds and uplift our community.

We envision a resilient local economy that nurtures people and places in the Klamath Basin and beyond.

Our Story

After many years in rural Arizona and a stint in Seattle, founders Alex and Malu were looking for a place to put down roots.

Small town living, agrarian values and natural beauty drew them to the Klamath Basin. They were compelled by the general willingness of Basin folks to be neighborly and solutions-oriented, even in the face of differences.

Alex and Malu wanted to start something that would support small businesses and farmers while telling the stories of this special place. It had to be a brick-and-mortar spot for those neighborly exchanges to keep growing.

“Watershed Row is a labor of love for our community and our kids. It’s a place where people, plants, animals, materials and water all matter and are related. It’s a place where beautiful, basic things are enjoyed: food, shelter and connection.”

The loading-dock-turned-solarium. It’s a passive solar heated slice of the subtropics. Ice cream beans, anyone?
